Holiday Party: We enjoyed a week long spirt week of fun attire activities, and then ended our week with a holiday party and Polar Express finale with the story and many activities. At our class party, the children enjoyed their time celebrating with one another and it could not have happened without the help of so many wonderful parents! A BIG “Thank You!” to the parents who worked with me in the planning process, as well as helped with donations: Mrs. Bromley, Mrs. Haan, Mrs. Richter, Mrs. Holland, Mrs. Zwier, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Meyers, Mrs. Blake, and Mrs. VanderLugt! Thank you! I hope you enjoy this slide show of some of our holiday memories:
We also enjoyed time with our 5th grade buddies from Mrs. Ball’s class, sharing a special snow globe writing and craft activity. The Kindergartners we so excited to spend time with their buddies! Thank you 5th graders!
Writing Workshop: Oh how we have LOVED reading the different versions of the Gingerbread Man over the past weeks! We have compared how the many versions we have read were the same and/or different, and noticed patterns in the song and text within each. It was a great connection to our unit on Pattern Books. I hope you enjoy viewing your child’s collection of Patterned books that arrived home this week. The children should be very proud of themselves!
Mystery Reader: Jackson’s mom, Mrs. DeGroot, was our Mystery Reader this week! In honor of the holiday spirt of the week, Mrs. De Groot chose the book, “How To Catch Santa,” by Jean Reagan. Thank you, Mrs. DeGroot, for stopping by to read us this new holiday favorite!
Popcorn Words for the Week Were: “what,” “it”
