*Valentine’s Day: The class had great fun during their Valentine’s Party! All were excited about the activities they made and played! Thank you so much to Mrs. Berry, Mrs. Bekius, Mrs. Freytag, Mrs. McWilliams and Mr. Coble for assisting me with the party stations and everyone who shared donations. The fourth graders truly enjoyed themselves.
Outstanding!! It makes my heart so happy to continually see our fourth grade students represent themselves in such respectful and responsible ways, both in class and around our school. I’d like to thank and celebrate these Jameson, Kinsley, Quintin, Mia and Rowan who SOAR’ed this past month and earned an Outstanding!
Thank you!!: Thank you to those who kindly donated hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes to our classroom. We have been diligently working to be aware and stay healthy in the midst of this cold and flu season. ***We are still accepting donations for disinfectant wipes. Thank you for any help you can provide!
Here’s what we’ve been studying in Fourth Grade!
Math: Unit 4: Equations and Word Problems – We completed our unit! The class gained great experience and practice in decoding word problems and organizing their information in the many multi-step word problems. They applied their skills and tackled the problems well.
Writing: Literary Essays – We are now independently developing a thesis, or big idea, as a take away from our readings and are writing a literary essay that contains supporting evidence. The class has a good grasp of the structure of an essay and how to construct it.
