In the short time we have been together, I have witnessed a fine group of eager learners who are doing a great job of learning the routines of our classroom and schedule. They are also building friendships within our class and doing such a nice job of working together in a safe way! When asked what was their favorite part of the first week of school, the most common response was that they could see their classmates and friends! 
Finally, we are all learning to maneuver through our school days with masks. I notice that we quickly forget that we are wearing them and it has not impacted our days as much as we thought it might. Also, thank you for sending along additional spare masks with your child. Sneezes happen, and a fresh mask to change into is such a nice and comfortable thing.
I am so very proud of these kids and am excited to get to know, and grow, with our fourth grade class family!
A Warm Welcome To Our New Principal, Mr. Waldie! We were excited to meet our new principal, Mr. Waldie, and enjoyed having him visit our classroom. He spent some time reading aloud the book, “Casey At The Bat,” by Earnest Lawrence Thaver. It was beautifully illustrated, and Mr. Waldie did a nice job to connect the story to life’s lessons and how we can grow from those experiences. Thank you, Mr. Waldie!

*Home folders are to be sent to school each day (you are all doing a great job with this! Thank you!!)
*A Birthday Schedule, listing full and 1/2 “approximate” birthdays came home with your child the first week of school. Please keep this on hand for your reference.
*No School: Friday Sept. 4 and Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day.
*Scholastic Book Orders: Arrived home with your child this past Thursday. This is an offer to you to purchase age appropriate books at an affordable price. There is no obligation to buy and is a service to you. If interested, please have your orders complete no later than Wed., Sept. 9.
*Early Release Day: Fri., Sept. 18 at 12:15pm.
*School Pictures: Will take place Thurs., October 1 (more info to come).
