MiRM Pizza Celebration: The class was so proud to have won the March is Reading Month (MiRM) Door Decoration contest. The pizza lunch was the icing on the cake (or should I say the pepperoni on the pizza!
) Thank you so much to Mr. Waldie and our school PTC for their help in organizing this fun school wide activity to promote reading, and for supplying our class with the delicious pizza from Jets!
Here are a few other fun memories from our month of reading!
And, Congratulations to Taylor!! Her name was drawn from the reading raffle and won a free book!
Outstanding: Our class continues to promote and be an example of our school wide SOAR goals (Be Safe, Own It, Act Responsibly, Be Respectful). I’m so very proud of our class for displaying these important traits each and every day! Here are a few students from our class who have been noticed outside our classroom – Congratulations!
Math: We just completed Unit 7 about fractions and decimals. I am currently in the process of correcting the student tests and am so proud of what I am seeing! Next week, we will begin Unit 8 on Geometry.
Important Information and Reminders:
*Early Release Day: We will dismiss at 12:15pm on Friday, April 23. Please let your child know if you would like them to order a sack lunch that day.
*M-STEP: Fourth graders will take the M-STEP the week of May 4 & 11. Just a reminder to please refrain from scheduling any appointments during these testing dates.
*Book & Reading Log: Please remind your child to return their book & reading log EACH day to school. They will have an opportunity to read during their Individualized Reading Time. I like to periodically touch base to listen to the children read and see if they have selected a “good fit” book.
*Homework: Reading: Read a minimum of 30 minutes every night. Remember to log the time and pages on your reading log and return it to school each day. Math: 2 pages, twice a week.
I wish you a great start to the week!
