100 days100 Days of School:  We had such an awesome day!!!  Not only did we count by 1’s, 10’s and 5’s, but we also played number and movement games all revolving around 100.  Also, the children did a GREAT job with their 100 collections!  (Thank you parents for helping and encouraging  your children with their homework!)   The class and I loved seeing them all!!  Here is a slideshow that I hope you will enjoy of our wonderful collections!

presidents day 1President’s Day:  In honor of this holiday, we read and learned about the lives of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.  The children were very intrigued and connected to the interesting lives they lived.  They enjoyed looking at the map to see where Virginia and Kentucky were, their birthplaces.  They also enjoyed reading many interesting facts about Washington’s and Lincoln’s upbringing, symbols and how they both helped the people of this country.

mathMath:   The children have been introduced to math mountains, which takes a number and breaks it down into two partners that equal that number.  We have learned the story of the Tiny Tumblers to help us understand and figure out how many roll down each side of the mountain.  This is a fun way for the children to work with math partners.

book faceMystery Reader:  Mrs. Davidson and I had scheduled her Mystery Reader date awhile ago, and it was worth the wait to see Gabriel’s expression when she arrived.  He was truly surprised. :) Mrs. Davidson read to us the book, “Froggie Plays T-Ball,” by Jonathan London.  This was a favorite book of Gabriel’s, and it sure provided us with a few laughs!  Thank you, Mrs. Davidson, for sharing this fun book with us!
