The class had great fun during their Valentine’s Party!  All were excited about the activities they made and played!  Thank you so much to Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Tator, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Snider, Mrs. Brillhart, Mrs. Davis, and Mrs. Helmholdt for assisting me with the party stations and/or donations.  The fourth graders truly enjoyed themselves. Here’s what we’ve been studying in Fourth Grade!

Math: Unit 6: Fractions –  We are well on our way into our unit on Fractions. We are working to understand the role and difference between the denominator and numerator, as well as understanding how to add and subtract fractions, along with working with improper fractions and mixed fractions.  The class is really getting the hang of it!

Writing: Literary Essays – We are wrapping up our unit and experience with essay writing. The class has a good grasp of the structure of an essay and how to construct it.

Science: We enjoyed learning about plants and their structures and are now bridging into connecting our knowledge with other living things like animals, such as bears. We are considering how internal and external structures help living things to survive and grow and are composing many questions as we investigate.
