Parent/Teacher Conferences: Thank you so much for attending our Parent/Teacher Conferences. It was so nice to visit with you all to share and celebrate the hard work and progress your child has made.
Outstanding Students!: During the month of March, Carter Beckham and Nolan Madden were acknowledged as Outstanding students in our classroom. Carter for growing in his ability to look at feedback as a gift with a growth mindset and Nolan for his positivity and willingness to encourage others in our class family. Thank you, Carter and Nolan, for representing our classroom in such a positive way!
Here’s what we’ve been studying in Fourth Grade!
Math: Unit 6: Fractions – The class did a great job on their unit test! I am pleased with their hard work and understanding and look forward to sending their tests home to you this week. We have now begun Unit 7, which will compare fractions and help us begin to understand decimals.
Writing: Informational Writing – As we kick off this new unit, we begin by getting acclimated with all that we know about text features to help us gain an understanding of important parts we’d like to include in our own writing pieces.
Social Studies: Core Democratic Values – We are learning and embracing our special values and rights as U.S. citizens though a variety of texts. These stories have jumped started great conversations as we build our understanding of how truly valuable our freedoms are.
Important Information and Reminders:
*Book Orders: I will accept all paper and online book orders through this Thursday, March 28.
*Spring Break Vacation: No school Friday, March 29 through Friday, April 5. School resumes on Monday, April 8.
*Early Release Day: We will dismiss at 12:15pm on Friday, April 12. Please let your child know if you would like them to order a sack lunch that day.
*Book & Reading Log: Please remind your child to return their book & reading log EACH day to school. They will have an opportunity to read during their Individualized Reading Time. I like to periodically touch base to listen to the children read and see if they have selected a “good fit” book.

Wishing you beautiful start to spring!
