Walk-A-Thon: The Walk-a-thon was great and the weather was perfect! Our wonderful PTC hosted a fun filled event, with red, white & blue spirit and kid friendly activities! Thank you to everyone for their help and financial donations to help our school. Walk-A-Thon winners will be announced soon.

Math: Number formation lessons continued this week with two more new poems:
4=Down and over, (jump) down once more, that’s the way to make a four!
5=Half way down, make a big fat tummy, put a hat on top, Mr. Five is funny!
Have your child continue practicing, as they are doing very well with these!
Also in math, the children are working on recognizing and creating scenes of a certain number. Homework in connection to this concept arrived home this past week. Thank you for supporting your child as a partner in this important weekly extension to learning.
Reading Workshop: We discussed how to begin to read a book by it’s cover and pictures. The children are learning and remembering the difference between an author and an illustrator.

Important Information and Reminders:
- Blue and Gold Day: Friday, October 7 – wear your school spirit colors!
- Turkey Trot: Oct. 25, 2016 – Information regarding the Turkey Trot arrived home with your child on Friday. The registration deadline is Fri., October 7.
- Snacks: Please pack your child a healthy daily snack.
- Hot Lunch Money: If you child orders hot lunch, please remember to send in their payment in a sealed envelope addressed “Hot Lunch” with your child’s name, teacher, and grade. This will ensure that payment is being applied to the correct student account.
- Library: Thank you for your support! Please continue to help your child return their library book bag each Tuesday so that they may check out a new book.
